good morning everyone!

i’m a bit of a zombie this morning. Sad smile i fell asleep fine last night, but then i woke up around 3am with awful stomach cramps. i fell back asleep eventually, but then i woke up with a raging headache that i still have. c’mon excedrine – kick in!

good thing i was a good blogger & took photos for what i ate wednesday yesterday!

i ate breakfast at my desk as i was reviewing and fine-tuning my  notes for my presentation at our department seminar yesterday.

overnight oats are back after a brief hiatus! this was my standard mix with banana, oats, almond milk, chia, flax, very berry cherry blend, and cashew butter! with a kombucha and two travel mugs of coffee on the side.

the seminar i presented was at noon, which is when i usually eat my lunch on tuesday.

since i had to eat a little late, i had a larabar around 11am to hold me over. liz sent me a couple of the new larabar flavor – cherry chocolate chip torte – and it’s delicious! thanks liz! (she won a whole case of them from larabar – jealous….)

the seminar went well, thank goodness! i presented data that no one had really seen before, so it was great to get feedback.

i was more than ready for lunch by the time i had answered questions and got everything put away after my talk.

i went with convenience on this one. a boxed meal from trader joe’s indian far: palek paneer – it’s actually pretty delicious, and a honeycrisp with my vitamins!

i had a couple unpictured snacks at home before dinner. i had pickles and some crackers with onion & chive philadelphia cream cheese. mmm….

dinner was a randomly thrown together slow cooker chili and juice.

the chili had a can of black beans, a can of diced tomatoes, a can of green chilis, some frozen roasted corn from trader joe’s, chicken breast cut into chunks, some veggie broth, chili sauce from my high school guidance counselor, sauteed onions & garlic, and cumin, chili powder, oregano, paprika, salt, & pepper.

we ate it with shredded mozzarella (the only cheese we have right now – shocking!) and a bit of sour cream.

this is how capone sits while we eat dinner every night.

and see jake sneaking under brad’s legs? yeah, he doesn’t know how to sit nicely for more than 5 seconds yet…

we also had some milk & cookies for dessert!

we stopped by brad’s grandma on our way home to manitowoc last weekend and of course she had a ton of treats to send home with brad: two kinds of cookies, puppy chow, and apple pie squares. ahh! i’ve had to practice major will power to not devour everything immediately!

i still feel pretty crappy, so i’m sitting with a heating pad on my stomach and having some coffee, which will hopefully help my headache. Sad smile

i’m going to work from home today, so hopefully i feel good soon. work from home days are my favorite because they’re by far my most productive!

does your grandma still make you treats?

we always get treats when we go to my grandma’s house – she always has the best food, but she doesn’t usually send us home with tons of food. she does have 7 kids and 14 (more?) grandchildren and 4 (i’m pretty sure….) great-grandchildren, so if she made us all treats all the time, she’d never leave the kitchen!

heres the flax i use: http://www.amazon.com/Flax-Sprinkles-Shakeable-12-Ounce-Canister/dp/B001EO6D1G it SAYS the cold milling they use prevents it from getting rancid… i’m praying they’re not lying to me! Thanks for your tip though….i might suck it up and pop the larger container in there and just keep a little out as a reminder? i’m torn now! haha
