i have to confess something.
i’ve been keeping a secret from you all.
brad and i have been in the process of adopting…
we picked him up last night after brad was done with work.
he is a major mutt. they said they think he has quite a bit of lab in him as well as english springer spaniel, heeler, maybe some terrier, and maybe many other breeds!
he was born on july 5, 2011 in a litter of 11 puppies! gah.
we adopted him from a rescue organization. his mom and the puppies were rescued when the puppies were only 1 day old.
thankfully, now all puppies and the momma are adopted and heading out to their new forever homes.
we’ve been talking about getting capone a little buddy for a while now. he had always lived with other dogs before brad graduated, and we figured he would like a friend again.
he’s still deciding about this little guy though…
he’s not sure yet if he likes sharing his mommy & daddy.
jake has been very busy exploring the apartment and learning how the glass patio door works. (he has run straight into it a couple times already!).
our kennel is at brad’s mom’s house in manitowoc, so we had to work out some kind of cage for him to sleep in.
he didn’t want to stay in there at first, but once we shut off the lights, he was snoring away!
today he gets to go on his first road trip home to manitowoc and gets to meet his uncles (hoss & boone!) and to pet smart to get a name tag, a bed, and some new toys!
capone gets to come too of course and get some new toys of his own!
have you ever introduced a puppy to your adult dog?
capone is the sweetest dog, but we want to make sure he doesn’t feel neglected with the new puppy around. we’re making sure to continue to show him lots of love as well.
