one month of wedded bliss <3

yesterday was september 27, which means it marked one month of marriage for brad and me. Red heart we’re just an old married couple now!

what did i eat on my one month anniversary?

lucky for you, today is wiaw, so i’ll be happy to show you!

i started off my morning with a cup of coffee (with pumpkin syrup stirred in).

and tons of fresh produce…

in the form of juice! this time it had grapes, apple, carrot, celery, cucumber, and ginger root.

i am loving this juice thing!

***

breakfast was my oats from my drive on saturday.

i could only eat half of them on saturday, so i just put the jar in the fridge when i got home and reheated it with almond milk and plenty more very cherry berry blend. it was just as good a couple days later!

***

i was so so so snacky all afternoon! at some point i…

drank a kombucha,

ate a snack of cottage cheese + baby yellow tomatoes,

crackers and what bean and basil hummus,

and lots and lots of pickles.

i think all of that added together can equal my lunch. sound good?

we went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary! brad didn’t get out of work til a bit late, so we just chose a place near our apartment that we had heard was very cheap and had decent food: the timbers. unfortunately, the only offerings were deep fried foods and it was super dark in there.

so we ate this instead!

i found this recipe in a whole living magazine recently. it was in a feature about using abundant end of season foods like tomatoes, potatoes, and zucchinis – all of which i do have an abundance of!

you just slice tomatoes, potatoes, and zucchini (and/or yellow squash) top it with a bit of shredded parmesan and some herbs and bake.

with fresh beans and sweet potato fries on the side.

it was simple and quick to throw together in a pinch.

we were talking about how we can’t believe the wedding was only a month ago. and our mini honeymoon was even more recent than that! it feels like forever ago.

what anniversaries do you celebrate?

if you’re married, do you still celebrate a “dating” anniversary?

our dating anniversary is so close to our wedding anniversary – august 5 & 27, that i doubt we’ll really celebrate our dating anniversary anymore.

  4. Happy one month! We just celebrate our wedding anniversary now. This sounds awful, but I can’t remember our dating anniversary anymore. 🙂

I’ve been drinking a similar juice combo a lot these days : carrot, celery, cucumber, ginger, lemon, apple and kale stalks (if I have them). I think ginger and lemon are really good additions to juices – they meld the flavors together nicely.

Yay for the one month anniversary! My bf and I always take time to wish each other a “happy anniversary” each month, but we really only celebrate our annual ones. I told him when we get married some day that I want to still celebrate our dating anniversary… why not?! It’s another day to celebrate and make special 🙂

PS The coffee looks GREAT! I’m getting a tumbler in the mail, so I am waiting to try that recipe for when I get my new tumbler 🙂 Can’t wait, hurry up tumbler!
