on saturday night, liz and i got to go to a wedding at the same place that brad and i are having our reception! i thought of it as a little wedding preview… 🙂
paige is liz’s friend from high school and liz invited me to come to the wedding as her date since keith is still in california.
the church service was beautiful! i did learn one lesson though – smile as much as possible! the bride was really nervous, so she wasn’t smiling through most of the ceremony and she didn’t look that happy. i know it must be hard to smile and be confident sometimes when you’re nervous, but i’m going to tell myself over and over to smile!
everything at the reception looked great! paige and nick gave away cute shot glasses as their favor.
i’ve never seen that before – i thought it was cute.
they used the banquet hall’s centerpieces.
simple and elegant! it worked for me. 🙂 we’re using the round mirrors under our centerpieces, but we’re having our florist do something different for the rest of it – you’ll have to wait to see!!
paige & nick served wine during the dinner, which of course i appreciated!
one of the wine’s they offered is one we’re serving too. it was just as good as i remembered.
i love how the head table looked with all of the sparkly lights behind it.
ours is going to be the same (it’s pretty much the standard for our venue…).
their dinner was a buffet with chicken and ham and all kinds of delicious veggies and fruit options.
all of the food was good. i was sad that i didn’t get to taste any of our foods though. we’re doing a plated dinner, so we had different food options than they did.
their cake was simple, but tasty.
by the time i was served, vanilla was the only option left. bummer, but it was still good!
and then i had to do a quality control check on the beer. 😉
yep, it’s beer!
after seeing paige’s wedding last week, i’ve been even more excited for our wedding! our contact at our venue has been so so so helpful and i know she’ll do a great job pulling everything together for us!
what is the most important thing at a wedding to you?
are you all about the cake? food? or do flowers do it for you?
