good morning, everyone! how’s your weekend going? i hope it’s as perfect as mine is! 🙂
i’ll share our great finds from both of those later, but for now i want to tell you about the most important part of the day….lunch!
we wanted to get away from the state street area where things might be a little more calm, so we headed over to dotty dumpling’s dowry on university ave.
dotty’s is really known for their burgers. they are really awesome because you can customize everything about them. they offer lean wisconsin-raised ground beef patties or, if you want to be more adventurous, you can order a veggie, buffalo, turkey burger, chicken, or a portobello mushroom cap. i love the freedom to choose!
there are also a ton of toppings to pick from, but you can also choose a pre-set type of burger.
between the for of us, two got beef burgers and two got buffalo burgers. we all loved them! i ordered the heart throb burger:
“a spicy delight featuring pepper jack cheese, bacon, and our new signature sauce”
and the signature sauce is:
“cream-cheese based with jalapeno, cilantro, and garlic”
i also added lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions to my burger, which was huge!
other people at our table got the california burger, the melting pot burger, and the gladiator. everyone was very satisfied with their burger!
my mom also ordered the sampler basket for the table.
it came with fried, breaded onions, cheese curds, onion rings, and mac & cheese bites…basically a big delicious basket of fried foods. it was all really good!
i’ve got to say, dotty’s is delicious, but it’s a good thing i don’t eat like that every day! 🙂
we were extremely satisfied with our food, but our service was a little lacking. just things like not refilling drinks and messing up little things in orders (like bringing liz’s burger with bacon when she specifically ordered it without, and then leaving it off my mom’s burger), and taking forever to bring us the bill.
those are all little things and i never had a problem with service the other couple times i’ve been to dotty’s!
overall, i give dotty’s an a-. the food tastes great and i love that there are so many options (non-burger-lover? they also have salads and soups!). the only thing that could have been improved upon was our service – and it wasn’t really that bad!
my point? go to dotty’s!
