last night, brad and i hosted a potluck for my sister and keith to meet our friends and so they could see our apartment! we had such a great time. ๐Ÿ™‚

we used to do potlucks once a month, but we fell out of the habit. i think we’re going to try to pick it back up for the summer!

i prepared a make-your-own-tacos bar (but forgot to take photos before it was devoured).

my friend maggie brought a rice pilaf dish, mary brought an asian noodle dish, and lisa and jeremy brought tortilla chips with trader joe’s layer dip. yum.

everyone filled up their plates and everything tasted absolutely delicious!

lots (lots) of wine was consumed.

but i’m feeling surprisingly ok this morning! whew.

and the real treat was dessert.

liz made this amazing bundt cake. it’s a berry cake (using vanilla cake mix plus a bag of trader joe’s very berry cherry blend mixed in) with lemon cream cheese frosting! (and of course i did the mixing with my beautiful kitchenaid mixer!)

and capone was a big hit too of course! mary had fun making him do his tricks.

and we were actually able to get all the girls together to take a nice photo!

we never remember to take a photo, so i’m so happy that we did it last night! one of my best friends from the program, andrea, is moving to chicago on saturday, so it was so nice to hang out before she goes!

do you regularly get together with friends?

even though we don’t do our potlucks regularly, we do happy hours a lot!

  1. yay! love potlucks. and that dessert looks amazing.

  2. How fun! I love potlucks! Almost weekly a group of us gets together for trivia at a local pub. It is a really fun way to spend a couple hours and sometimes we win bar cash for the next week ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. That cake looks amazing! Glad to find some other people from WI.
We try to get together with friends quite a bit, especially during the summer, but it’s a little hard with Ironman training. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. That sounds like so much fun! I wish I had my girlfriends nearby. Every single one of them lives at least 3 hours from me so we only see each other a few times a year unfortunately ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  5. ummm where is my invite? gosh!
