what a weekend

hey guys! i am so sorry for my lack of posts this weekend. it’s clear now that i need to plan ahead a little bit for weekends when we have a lot going on…

so let’s play a little catch-up, shall we?

friday afternoon, brad and i decided we wanted to host a game night at our apartment and show it off to our friends! we got everything ready and then decided to begin work on one of my 101 in 1001 items. brad has been asking me to watch the star wars movies ever since we started dating. we noticed that the phantom menace, attack of the clones, and rise of the sith were all on tv, so we set our dvr to record them and we watched the phantom menace before everyone came over! i was very surprised that i kind of liked it…

game night was a lot of fun too. three of my friends from my program and one of their boyfriends came over and we played bang!. it’s a really random and super fun game. brad and i are totally going to get it for ourselves.

saturday morning, brad and i slept in and then made a pretty amazing breakfast.

we ,made a veggie scramble with chopped green pepper, red onion, black olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, and eggs. brad also made some breakfast potatoes with onions and we made a little bacon for a side dish. mmm. served with a side of french press coffee.

i haven’t used my french press in months. i’m not sure why i took a break from it though. it’s so delicious. i have a feeling it’s going to make a comeback in my life!

after breakfast, we packed up and drove to manitowoc. we had a meeting with my aunt, who is also the music manager at the church we’re getting married in. we spent about two hours with her and chose all of the music for our ceremony. and i have to tell you, there were a couple moments where i teared up after hearing some of the songs – like the one i’ll be walking down the isle to!

mothers’ day was another busy one… brad’s parents hosted a cook-out around lunchtime for his family, and then my grandma had one at her house for our family. it was a day filled with lots of food and family. and i ended up being totally exhausted after it all!

today started with more wedding business. brad and i met with our pastor at 8 this morning. the meeting went really well – we’ve got most of the details for the wedding ceremony completely figured out. hooray! it feels awesome to have all of these important decisions made.

after our meeting, we came home and had lunch!

a big half plate of fruit with a little bit of two salads from the mothers’ day gathering yesterday. it was a perfect filling lunch!

now we’re back in madison. we did an insanity workout when we got home.

operation get in shape for the wedding is officially underway for both of us.

and now we’re watching attack of the clones and brad’s yelling at me to pay attention! 😉

i hope you all had a fabulous weekend! i can’t wait to catch up on my blog reading tonight too! I feel like I have no idea what you’ve been up to.

what was the best thing you did this weekend?
