i turned it around

today was the polar opposite of yesterday! instead of feeling stressed and overwhelmed, i got a ton accomplished and felt very in control and happy. that is not how i was expecting my monday to go, but i’ll take it!

i woke up early today so i could get in to the lab a bit early. i had a lot on my to-do list and wanted to get a jump start on it! i took a break at noon for lunch.

lunch was a bit of a hodge podge today. i had some leftover coleslaw that my mom sent back with us from the weekend, an apple, and a larabar. random but delicious!

this afternoon brad and i had a meeting with an insurance agent and i knew we’d be home too late to make a good dinner, so i did a little prep last night…

we assembled emily’s chicken, artichoke, and mushroom lasagna! i also got some carrots ready to roast.

then we headed to our appointment. when we got back, i popped everything in the oven and took this guy on a short run.

(don’t worry, brad stayed and monitored the dinner.) i’ve got to say, capone is not the best running buddy! he was pulling on his leash to run out to my left or right the whole time and he did not want to run very fast. silly puppy. we’re going to have to work on that! it did feel awesome to get the heart pumping though. 🙂 i’ve been majorly slacking on my workouts lately….

anyway. back to dinner.

after my run, brad and i took this delicious lasagna out of the oven.

and dished up our servings on carrots.

and our delicious lasagna slices!

i also enjoyed a beer with dinner.

bell’s oberon is one of my favorite beers of all time! another close one is bell’s two hearted ale. mmm…

now we’re watching a quick episode of it’s always sunny & relaxing. i think i’m going to shoot for another early bedtime tonight. i like getting to lab early! that way i get to leave early and spend more time with my two boys!

are you an early riser?

i love some oberon too! especially this time of year!!!

i have traditionally been an early riser…but these past two weeks have been BRUTAL and I can NOT get out of bed to save my life!!!!

Glad you were able to turn it around! I have become an early riser (I wasn’t before J and I lived together) which I actually enjoy because I’ve found my most productive part of the day is between 9 am and lunch. Waking up early lets me take advantage of this!

Hope today is going just as well 🙂

  9. Oh wow that dinner looks delicious! Glad today was such a good one for you, girl! 🙂

I’m an early riser but only because I have to be for work. My body naturally wakes up with the daylight so whenever the sun streams in my window is when I wake up… which means early morning rising is easy in the summer and not so much in the winter, haha!
