he did it!
brad is now officially a doctor of chiropractic! 🙂
i’m a proud fiancée…
you guys all know that i was down in st. louis last weekend for brad’s graduation from chiropractic school. it was a crazy couple days and i never got to recap it for you, so here goes….
we all arrived in st. louis on thursday night. we all = me, my mom, my stepdad, brad’s mom, brad’s dad, brad’s grandma, my grandma. thursday night we all hung out at the hotel and just had fun playing games.
brad’s sister arrived friday morning (thank goodness she flew in in the morning – the airport was hit by tornadoes pretty badly friday night). friday morning was also the awards ceremony and breakfast. all of the students graduating with honors and those who got special awards were announced. my smarty-pants fiance graduated magna cum laude (!!).
being recognized for honors with the other smarties
he also received an award for having the highest gpa in the basic science classes (like biochemistry (x2 trimesters), microbiology (x3 trimesters), anatomy (x3 trimesters), physiology (x3 trimesters), pathology (2x trimesters), public health, and histology). seriously. what a smarty-pants! 🙂
after the awards ceremony, we went to the mall (which is when brad’s mom got us the pretty ramekins!). then, we (minus the grandmas) went to the wineries! hooray! then friday night we just hung out at the hotel again and kept it pretty low-key.
saturday morning was the BIG day! 🙂 the graduation was pretty awesome. bag-pipers played for the entrance and the exiting processions. it was so exciting and they were sooooo good! brad was also called onstage and recognized for honors AGAIN! and he got this fancy honors sash.
the valedictorian gave a pretty great speech too! he was very composed and made lots of jokes.
here’s brad with the valedictorian and his father-in-law who also graduated with them! that’s a cool story for another day though….
today is all about brad! 🙂
even when i first met him in anatomy & physiology in 11th grade in high school, he knew he was going to be a chiropractor. our a&p teacher even called him “doctor” the whole year!
i’ve seen first-hand how much time and hard work brad put into his chiropractic education. even when he took 34+ credits per trimester or had 10 finals in one week, he kept working and never gave up. 🙂
i think it is so awesome that he has known for so long what his dream was and he went for it and now he has achieved it!
i love that man and i am so proud of him!
