home sweet home

moving day is over! whew!

today started bright and early… i brought the first load of stuff down to my jeep at around 7am. my moving crew (my mom, stepdad, and uncle) arrived around 9am and we carried all of my big stuff down to the trailer. it was raining off and on and was a very very gloomy day. but i was still happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

i’ll skip over all of the boring details and get to the good stuff! now, i’m not crazy and i had a lot of help from my mom and brad’s mom while the men were assembling our new table, but….. i’m already unpacked! want to see everything?!? *if you want to see the whole layout of the apartment, you can check out the florplan i drew in this post.

here’s our fabulous in-unit washer and dryer!

this was one of the top things on my list as we were looking for an apartment. i am SO sick of having to do laundry in a coin-operated communal laundry room. now i don’t have to anyย  more! woohoo!

here’s the guest room/computer room.

it’s pretty empty right now. i’m standing in the corner where brad’s bed will go next weekend and to the left is where is desk and the desktop computer will go. it’s a little unfortunate, but it seems like this closet is going to be the dumping spot for pretty much everything i don’t know where to put! at least i can close those doors….

here’s the kitchen!

i took this photo from the dining area, right next to our new table!

and…here’s the table!

i’m in love. โ™ฅ

i don’t have the leaf in it, so it can get bigger if we need it!

and now you can see the living area behind the table.

our dining room flows right into the living room.

but we formed the couch and love seat into an L to make a bit of a division.

i still need to hang our black and white photo collage on the wall above the couch. our (brad’s) tv is going to go against the wall to the right in the picture.

here’s our bedroom from the doorway from the kitchen/dining/living area.

those black curtains aren’t permanent…just something i had on hand to keep extra light out until i find what i’m looking for (i’m thinking sunshine yellow!).

and now standing in the corner next to the window with the black curtains…

you can see the master bath and closet off of our bedroom.

here’s the closet a little closer!

i tried really really hard to leave brad some room! once he moves, we’ll probably have to shift some stuff around so everything fits. we’ll make it work!

whew! it was a long day and i’m exhausted. my night will consist of watching the office from thursday night and enjoying a (second) glass of wine!

how was your saturday?

mine was awesome obviously! the only downside? i have “it’s moving day, it’s moving day” to the tune of rebecca black’s friday in my head all morning. ugh.

i’m pretty pumped about it, obviously! ๐Ÿ™‚ i’m tempted to use it just to try it out….but i don’t really have much laundry yet…!

Moving can be so exhausting. i am loving your kitchen, so open!

I have the master closet all to myself, (cannot share it with the husband) and he has the second bedroom closet all to himself ๐Ÿ™‚

that sounds amazing! i’m guessing some things will have to be moved around to make it work with both my and brad’s stuff. i’m not sure if he’ll want to put all of his stuff in the guest bedroom or if he’ll want to do what i’m thinking and put our day-to-day stuff in the master closet and then use the guest one for rarely worn items. we’ll see!!

  8. Yay, Sarah! The apartment is wonderful! I absolutely love the kitchen.
