much better!

hooray! yesterday definitely snapped me out of my funk. 🙂

brad and i started with some hot oats.

ahhh, oats, i’ve missed you so. for both of us i mixed:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup 1% milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup freshly ground flaxseeds

the one banana in brad’s house belonged to one of his roommates, so no ‘naner in the mix this time… 😦 but that’s ok! the toppings definitely sweetened it up! we topped with:

  • butterscotch chips
  • a sprinkle of brown sugar
  • peanut butter

no fruit in the house either, so it was kind of a decadent breakfast. but i’m ok with that! it was still delicious.

coffee on the side. we were in homegoods last time i was visiting and saw some coffee for super cheap! so we snatched it up. 🙂

brad had to go to a clinic event in the afternoon yesterday so i was left to entertain myself! it was super fun! 🙂

first, i headed to q’doba again for a veggie-ful lunch!

i got a naked veggie burrito again. it had:

  • cilantro lime rice
  • black beans
  • fajita veggies (bell peppers, onions, etc.)
  • grilled veggies (zucchini, squash, etc.)
  • corn salsa
  • pico de gallo
  • lettuce
  • shredded cheese – i told him to put on half the amount he normally does…
  • just a little sour cream
  • guac

it was veggie-rific!!

afternoon festivities

after lunch, i watched grey’s and private practice from thursday night – brad dvr’ed it for me! i thought the musical grey’s was a little cheesy, but i liked the story-line.

then, i read a lot of blogs and had my reader down to zero.

and thennnn…..i cleaned brad’s kitchen! imagine 3 boys and 3 dogs living in one house. none of them ever really feel inclined to clean. so i took everything off the counters, threw away lots of expired food, scrubbed everything, organized the tupperware drawer.

the boys were very happy with my afternoon activities!

afternoon snackage

after my cleaning spree, i found a say yes to the dress marathon on tv, so i grabbed some ice cream.

about 1/3 cup almond dream left from when i did my vegan challenge!

and then i found some delicious beer in the fridge.

i had two of these while i waited for brad to get home! after he finally came back, we had big plans!

i’ve wanted to see the king’s speech for a while now, and i had a fandango groupon to use up, so i finally convinced brad to go with me!

he was a little bummed because the movie started at 9:05, so he had to miss the kentucky-uconn game.

or not. the movie actually started at 9:50, so we found a bar right next to the movie theater and he got to watch part of the game! while we were there, we shared an appetizer and each had one beer while we watched the game. brad has uconn in the final, so he was really happy that they won!

now, on to the king’s speech. i loved the movie! i think colin firth is awesome and he did a great job as king george vi. brad thought it was a little show though. it’s certainly not an action movie!!

we didn’t get home until after midnight, so i went to bed right away! we slept in this morning, but it’s gorgeous here, so we’re going to take the dogs for a walk and perhaps go work on our wedding registry!

i hope you all have a great sunday! 🙂
