woohoo! i passed my preliminary exam! i am now officially a dissertator. 🙂
i enjoyed a couple delicious meals while i was in st. louis last weekend that i haven’t had a chance to tell you about yet! first, i convinced brad that we should do the grocery shopping at trader joe’s. (!!). they were sampling this indian dish, so of course we were swayed by the marketing a bought a package.
i love paneer. it’s a soft, indian cheese. i always order dishes with paneer when i go to indian restaurants! they served this with garlic naan at trader joe’s, but we just grabbed wheat pitas to eat it with.
i thought it was still delicious, but it was better with the naan. duh.
on the side i made a salad with fresh mozzarella, chopped basil, chopped red onion, a drizzle of olive oil, and a bit of balsamic vinegar.
it was refreshing and tasty! it was a perfect side dish.
i also took out my old point & shoot the other morning [i’ve been using almost all iphone photos lately – lazy. i’m trying to use my p&s more often now!] i found some great sunlight on the floor one morning and experimented with a light bounce.
first without the light bounce:
and now with one:
look at how shadowy the non-light bounce photo is! this was the extent of my experimentation, but i’m excited to learn more. 🙂
monday mini goals (on tuesday)
last week’s goals went pretty well. here they are:
◊ finish research proposal presentation. ← done and i passed! woot!
◊ do week 1 of the one hundred push-ups program for the pipes challenge. ← done and done! it’s going really well.
◊ call the church we’re getting married in. ← shoot, i completely forgot about this one as i was preparing for my presentation. i’ll add it for this week!
◊ run 10 miles this week. ← halfway there – i logged only 5 miles. it’s better than nothing, right?!?
and now, this weeks’ goals:
♦ complete week 2 of the hundred push-ups program for the pipes challenge.
♦ call the church. i really need to talk to them to confirm a couple things!
♦ eat 7+ servings of fruits and vegetables each day. i’ve been averaging around 5 per day – i want to bump it up a bit!
i think i’ll leave it at that. i’m feeling a little stressed with my schedule this semester and i think i need to decompress a bit.
30 day blog challenge: day 29
today is the second to last day of the challenge! i’m actually shocked that i’ve completed it so far! today my task is to post a photo that can always make me smile!
this is from a night out with two of our other best friends in green bay! we saw zac brown band and gloriana in concert first, then went out to the bars after! we ended up running into the guys from gloriana at the bar and hung out with them for the night. it was pretty cool!
and that leads me to my last topic today: happy birthday to my lovely sister lizzy! she’s 24 today! xoxox, love you babay!
