feeling a bit frantic

ok guys, this is going to be quick. i’m feeling a bit crazy about my research proposal prelim on monday, and i have plans to work on it all day today!

some recent delicious meals

bob’s red mill hot 10 grain cereal with mashed banana and trader joe’s very cherry berry blend to top it ← i’m officially addicted to this frozen fruit blend. it’s perfection!

*****

tj’s sweet potato gnocchi

i bought this a while ago and just tried it at the beginning of this week. oh my goodness yum. i will be buying this again!

*****

and my last lemon chobani 😦

topped with very cherry berry blend again! this was also fro cho – i froze it overnight and then let it thaw all morning until lunchtime. it was literally frozen yogurt!

30 day challenge: day 25

today’s challenge task is to post a photo of my day. well, 6 hours of my day yesterday was this:

i drove from madison to st. louis after my department seminar. at least it was sunny for most of the drive! 🙂 and honestly, this was the fastest-seeming drive between st. louis-madison EVER. want to know why? i took the lovely heather’s advice last week and found some new podcasts!!! my new favorite is stuff you  missed in history class. call me a dork, but i can’t get enough of this! it makes me so happy that they have so many podcasts available on itunes!

my day today will look like this:

i defend my research proposal in 3 days. ahhh. cue panic.

i’m off to get my butt to work! starbucks is calling my name….

do you procrastinate?

i’m very seriously considering purchasing this book. i think i need it.

ooh, i almost bought that gnocchi at Tjs last weekend! we don’t have one here so I only get to go when I’m visiting my parents 6 hours away. i’ll have to get it next time!

  2. calm down girl, you are going to ROCK it! you’re totally prepared and they are going to LOVE you!!!
ps…such awesome news about your sister!!! yay!

  3. Very cherry blend is my FAVE. It makes great smoothies with chocolate milk and spinach. Mmm

Good luck on your defense! I’m sure you will rock it!

  4. KT says:

I love the new sweet potato gnocchi at Trader Joe’s–sweet and savory are my kind of flavors 🙂

Good luck on your research proposal defense!

Fun news about your sister! I love having both my sisters in the same city with me.

I’m a procrastinator a lot of the time – I surprise myself every now and then and get things done early, but I work best under pressure. 🙂

    • Sarah says:

i agree – i definitely think i do my best work under pressure. i find that when i start a project early, i just do busy work on it anyway, and end up doing the bulk of the work in the late minute…. i really wish i could get stuff done ahead of time though. not matter what, i stress myself out with my procrastination.

  7. Wait how long is the drive to St. Louis?! It seems long from Madison…
(I feel for you – my fiance and I did long distance the first few years we dated – it is not easy!)

    • Sarah says:

it’s a 6-hour drive to st. louis from madison. long distance is no fun, but then end is FINALLY in sight for us! (less than a month!!!)

I love your response to Ryan’s post! It’s sooooo important to us! The world needs more people like you to spread that awareness and get those kids learning about how the food is grown and why it’s so good for them! Plus it’s rewarding and FUN working with the kids! Ryan has really gotten me started on podcasts lately. I’m usually plugged into teaching or re-teaching myself something on the internet so often that it’s a nice change of pace to just LISTEN and absorb!! Have a great weekend Sarah!

    • Sarah says:

aww, stephanie, this made my day. i often feel frustrated with my research project, and forget about all the good it’s doing. thanks so much for your kind words!

  9. cbrady3 says:

I want to try those Gnocchi! Glad to hear they’re good!

  10. Mary says:

How nice your sister will be with you for the summer. The meals you shared with us really look delicious but are still healthy while being satisfying. I’m relatively new here and I’ve been spending some time browsing through your earlier entries. I really enjoyed my visit and will be back often. I hope Monday goes well! Have a great weekend. Blessings…Mary
