last night i arrived in st. louis at 5pm, got an adjustment from my dr. fiance, and then we headed to the grocery store to pick up supplies for dinner! we played rock, paper, scissors to decide if we were going to make meghann’s cheesy turkey burgers or jenna’s chicken enchiladas. turkey burgers won! 🙂
honestly, as soon as i read meghann’s description of these oozing cheese, i knew i HAD to make them.
we didn’t have any onion (and didn’t buy any because brad thought he had some) and we had a whole pound of ground turkey, so we increased the number of servings and changed a couple of the proportions. here’s our take on the burgers.
cheese explosion turkey burgers
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup whole flax seeds, ground (once it was ground it was a little less than 1/2 cup)
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 1/4 cup shredded cheddar*
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
*we used sargento special reserve sharp cheddar and it added amazing flavor
just mix everything up. and grill on the george foreman.
garnish as you please. we used tomato, spinach, and ketchup.
brad was the grill master!
wow, these really are a cheese explosion! i really loved them!
brad thought he would eat two of them, but after just one he was stuffed! well, he didn’t have just one burger. we made some guacamole to go with our dinner, so after chips + guac AND one burger, brad was stuffed! 🙂
it was a great dinner. thanks for the recipe, meghann!
the rest of our friday night consisted of watching anchorman and drinking wine! not bad…
enjoy your saturday & i’ve got to say it one more time: GO PACKERS!
